Glow With Mei

Hello ~~

How are you guys? hope you are having a great time, and that you had a wonderful holiday so far ♥

I also wanna wish you guys a happy new year full of love, well being and success. I can't believe this is the last day of 2018 already... I've tried many new korean brands these couple of years (especially makeup ones), but the brand that got me absolutely hooked (as you might already know) is Heimish, thus the reason why I wanted my last review this year to be about a Heimish product: Heimish Artless perfect cushion.

Description and claims:
- Seemingly effortless moistly covering cushion compact. It forms a moisture-locking membrane that gets firmer the more it is padded, leaving skin smoother.
- Naturally moist and glowing cover of a firm, sticky cushion texture with a moisture packing system full of moist glow, it naturally and smoothly covers skin blemishes.
-  Bright skin tone without darkening even if re-applied: Even if repeatedly applied several times, it gets lightly absorbed without darkening, leaving skin bright and clear all day long.
- Formula that protects skin from a harmful environment: Thyme flower, mint leaf, rosehip fruit, and other compounds form a thin moisture-locking membrane that protects skin from harmful matter like minute dust in the air.

Volume: 13g (x2 since it comes with a refill)

Ingredients:

Water, Titanium Dioxide, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Cyclohexasiloxane, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Octocrylene, Zinc Oxide, PEG-30 Dipolyhydroxystearate, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Iron Oxides(Ci77492), Butylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride, Quaternium-18 Bentonite, Dimethicone, Origanum Majorana Leaf Extract, Rosa Canina Fruit Extract, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Leaf Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Iron Oxides(Ci77491), Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Aluminum Hydroxide, Iron Oxides(Ci77499), Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Chlorphenesin, Adenosine, Fragrance

How to use:

At the end of your skincare routine, press on the puff to soak up a desired amount of the content and apply using a tapping motion all around the face. After each use, be sure to keep the compact closed. To insert the refill, flip the product over and push the bottom out with both thumbs. Carefully align and press in the refill, enjoy.

Packaging: 10/10

You might think that I'm biased or something, but Heimish packagings are G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S! They are simple yet elegant and modern, and I am absolutely sold whenever it comes to pink and rose gold.

I also love how the design on the lid is simply printed but the are some shimmery flakes in it, and the whole thing is covered with a hard transparent top, which makes it really beautiful (I failed big time showing the details with my phone's camera...)

The cushion case is kinda similar to your typical bb cushion's one, with a front release and a mirror... except for two things:

- The puff is a little thicker, denser and slightly bouncier than the typical blue air puffs, which kinda makes it absorb less product.

- since they use the mochi technique, the cushion isn't flat like the other cushions (I tried to take it in pics but failed...), so you might get some of the bb cream on the lid.

Scent: 9/10

It has a light flowery scent, nothing overpowering and fades away moments after application (but still, it might bother you if you have a super sensitive nose.

Shades: 7/10

This bb cushion comes in only two shades (21 and 23 like most of the other korean base products).
Undertone: I got it in the light beige shade (21), and it is quite neutral with a tad bit of pink to it, which a plus for me.
SPF: 50 PA+++ which means you might look like a ghost if you took pictures with flash while having this bb cushion on (or any other korean bb cushion for this matter)

Coverage: 7/10

This bb cushion has a medium coverage that can be built up. In the pics above, I have applied the product with the cushion like I would do on my face. I didn't layer it. You can see that it did a nice job covering my hand's redness, but couldn't completely cover the line I've drawn.

Finish: 8/10

This bb cushion has a satin finish (which is a plus for me since I don't like the super dewy kinda look), adheres well to the skin and is easily blendable. It doesn't conceal pores (nor emphasise them) so you might consider using a pore primer beforehand if you have huge pores. It also clings to dry patches and kinda makes them more obvious, so make sure you get rid of those before using this bb cushion (or any base makeup in my opinion)

Moisture/oil control: 8/10

I don't think that this as moisturising as they make it seem (it doesn't dry out the skin either), but it is kinda understandable since it kinda has a matte finish. So you better rely on your skincare rather than this bb cream if you have a super dry skin.
As for oil control, I think this bb cushion does a nice job for about 4 hours if you have an oily skin (not extremely so), before the skin starts becoming a little dewy, but after a couple of other hours, you might need to use a no sebum powder or blotting paper.

Lasting power: 9/10

If your skin is in a good condition, this bb cushion will probably last all day (especially if you use a primer with is). But if you have a super dry/dehydrated skin or live somewhere where the wind is blasting constantly in your face (same for the heater and the air conditioner), then this might look a quite patchy on you after 4-5 hours.

Do I recommend it?

If you have a normal to oily skin, then yes absolutely.
But if you have a dry skin, then I don't think this is the right bb cushion for you (especially during winter), unless you are taking good care of your skin (as in exfoliate it enough and moisturize it before using this bb cushion) or live in a humid region.

Hello guys ~~

Heimish is a relatively new Korean brand that just launched last year but there are already many people talking about it.
I've got some of their products as soon as they were available online, but only got to review their All Clean Balm Cleanser (which is my fav 1st cleanser btw, check the full review here), and I think it's about time I review their other products.

First of all, let's take a minute to appreciate their packagings. Whoever designed them is a genius, I mean, just look how simple yet elegant they are. Thank to this packaging I fell in love with the products before even trying them.

And now, let's move to the actual review! So for today, I'll be reviewing Heimish "dailism" Blusher Palette, it's available in 4 different color options:

  • Rose Petal
  • Stay Blossom (which I will review today *exciiited*)
  • Flavor Apricot
  • Peony Floral

Description and claims:

This exclusive 3-in-1 palette brings Heimish's artistry techniques to life in an easy, fun way — allowing you to play with its Highlighter to enhance, Multi-Shading Colors to sculpt, and Blusher to add a beautiful flush. Lightweight powder with coated pigments provide true and long lasting colors.

Volume: 14.5g

Active Ingredients:

Mica, talc, nylon-12 , titanium dioxide , silica , phenyl trimethicone , boron nitride , magnesium stearate , Caprylic , propanediol, tin oxide , carmine,

Packaging:

The Heimish Dailism Blusher Palette comes in a gorgeous very sturdy plastic packaging that's a shiny, glossy pink with gold shimmers in it (and I love everything pink *-*) It's very simple yet elegant (just like all of Heimish products) with a rose gold heimish in corner... I'm a sucker.

Between the powder pans and the large mirror lays a protective plastic film with "No More Normal" written on it. How can I not love this brand?

The brush that comes with this palette is actually pretty decent, it's not the best when it comes to blending but it's actually soft and precise, and nothing like those crappy harsh brushes that start shedding before even touching them. It's a dual-ended brush with an angled edge in one side, and a rounded one in the other.

Texture, Performance and Swatches:

The colors are really pretty, they are in no way as pigmented or as vibrant as western brands, but they are absolutely the kind of shades I like since they give you that natural look that you can build up if desired (I personally always end up looking like a clown whenever I use super pigmented products... I don't know why but seems like I'm lacking in the blending area). So if you are someone who looks for really pigmented products, then this palette is definitely not for you, but if you are like me and like products that give you just a wash of color then you would absolutely love it as much as I did.
all these powders are smooth to the touch, blend out easily and adhere perfectly to the skin, and last for about 5 hours before it starts to fade, which is pretty decent.

The contouring/shading comes in three colors which is unique and absolutely different from what we usually find in most of other Korean brands who only offer a bronzer. One of the three color is more like a gray-brown one while the two other ones are more of a warmer shades, but none of them is orangey (which again is frequently found in Korean cosmetics). You can either use them separately depending on where you are gonna apply it, or mix the three colors together to get the perfect neutral shade to contour your face (at least it's perfect for me, since most contouring products are way too dark for me and I end up most of the time with chocolate bar cheeks). This tri-colored shading is really smooth and blends out nicely creating a natural shadow effect, and it is buildable if you need a more dramatic look.

The blusher is a sheer pink with a satin finish. It is quite similar to most of Korean blushes, it isn't super pigmented but instead gives you just a wash of color which makes it perfect for everyday use. I'm pretty pale so it's the right pigmentation for me, sometimes I like to apply it on top of the Tonymoly mini cushion blusher (reviewed here) to set it, It's buildable if you put in a little more effort, but if you have dark skin tone I doubt this shade would show on you, so you better go for the other shades (rose petal might be nice for those with medium skin tones).

I don't usually use highlighters but this one is absolutely gorgeous if you don't like blinding highlighters. It's really smooth to the touch with fine shimmery pearl, it isn't gritty at all and doesn't feel like chunky glitter, which makes it blend out effortlessly without emphasizing pores, fine lines or uneven skin. This highlighter has a lovely iridescent pinkish sheen that gives a natural glow and would probably compliment those with cool undertones and pale skin.

Summary

Pros:

- Gorgeous  sturdy packaging
- Silky smooth powder, easily blendable
- Natural finish, isn't too pigmented which is awesome for people with light to medium skin tone.
- Tri-colored shading that would suit most skin tones.
- The highlighter is awesome, great texture, isn't gritty at all
- The powders doesn't emphasize skin imperfections
- The brush is actually quite nice
- Large mirror

Cons:

- The blush is too sheer it might not show on people with dark skin tones, but it is definitely buildable with a little bit of effort.

You can buy it:

The Heimish Dailism Blusher Palette retails for $25.23 and is available in four shades at amazon.

Do I recommend it?
If you like light makeup, then yes

4.75/5

You may report a serious adverse event from use of this to: Report reaction, help@klairs.com

Packaging:

Dear Klairs is an eco-friendly brand, and its products are known for their simple, minimalistic design.
For this bb cream, the colors were restricted to black and cream color, with the words "You look so wonderful just the way you are. Be natural, Klairs" written bellow the product's name, which is a huge plus for me.

Dear Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream comes in a sleek, soft plastic tube with a small nozzle to make dispensing the right amount of product easier.

The scent:
It has a pleasant scent, that makes me think about one of my childhood friends.

The performance:

This BB cream's consistency isn't too liquid nor too solid, and when applied, it feels so light.
What made me hesitate a lot before purchasing this bb cream is the fact that it comes only in one shade, and I've only saw it swatched by girls with yellow undertones, that's why I was afraid it would be a bit yellowish for me, but seems like I was worrying for nothing. The product blended perfectly with my natural skin color on both my face and the darker skin on my hand, and it suprisingly worked just fine for my sister who has a much darker skin than mine.

This bb cream has a natural semi-matte finish, reduces the redness without leaving any grey cast nor accentuating the dry patches around my nose, leaving the skin soft and smooth, without any stickiness.
Even though the initial coverage is very light, it is definitely buildable. But if you are looking for a full coverage, you can pair it up with Dear Klairs Creamy & Natural Fit Concealer.
It claims that it has oil control properties, which I couldn't verify since my skin produces barely any oils during this time of the year, that's why I used a blotting paper to check it out, and I think that it does an okay work, which means that it works for every skin type, oily one included.

Summary

Pros:

- Its smart color system that makes it suit different skin tones
- Light formula
- Pleasant scent.
- Non sticky.
- Non greasy.
- Doesn't accentuate my dry patches
- Semi matte finish.
- High SPF and PA
- Lovely packaging, and lovelier expression

Cons:

- If you are looking for high coverage, you might not like it.
- only one shade, so it might not suit those with a deeper skin or a paler skin tone.

Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur is one of the popular Korean base makeup/primers, and I personally have been using it since it was launched last year, that's why I'm gonna share my thoughts about it with you today.

Description and claims:

This lightweight cream provides multi-filtering effects for instantly refined and smooth skin.
The texture is smooth but it minimizes pores and brighten complexion.

What it does:

- Covers pores and bumpy skin to make skin look flawless.
- Softening skin layer like filter effect to give smooth and even skin layer.
- Natural whitening skin to make dark skin look bright and cover imperfections flawlessly while remaining invisible on-screen and in real life.
- Baby pixel powder and cover powder compounds give 3-in-1 multi filter effect like adjusting light on skin.

Volume: 35g

Ingredients:

Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Butylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Peg-10 Dimethicone, Zinc Oxide (Ci 77947), Phenyl Trimethicone, Dimethicone, Pentylene Glycol, Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Glycerin, Sorbitan Isostearate, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Magnesium Sulfate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Tribehenin, Glyceryl Behenate/Eicosadioate, Hydrogenated Castor Oil Isostearate, Aluminum Hydroxide, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hdi/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Silica, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Disodium Edta, Fragrance(Parfum), Phenoxyethanol, Mica (Ci 77019), Iron Oxides (Ci 77492), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491)

So like many other primers, this primer contains lots of silicones...

How to use:

- As the last step of skin care, apply the cream on face and smoothly massage following skin layers.
- It can be used solely or you may use it with Any Cushion line products for more intensive coverage.
(Apply Any Cushion after Beauty Shot Face Blur)

Packaging:

This primer comes in a little pretty peach colored bottle (We're talking about Etude House, of course the packaging would be pretty), with a pump dispenser that dispenses just the right amount of product that would be enough for the whole face.

The scent and texture:

It has a vague baby powder scent. This primer is a lightweight  peach-pinkish cream, that is neither too watery nor too thick, that spreads easily, and leaves a white cast if not well blended (or id you use more product than you should).

The performance:

When applied and blended, this primer provides a light coverage and skin evening and toning up, coupled with a little bit of SPF, which makes it okay to use alone if you want. Up close, this primer is quite shimmery, just a little to make your skin look glowy (unlike the perfect cover bb cream that is quite sparkly). Pore-wise, this primer does a decent job minimising the pores and making the skin smoother (you can see for yourself in the pictures below, excuse my awful blackheads, I just don't find the time to take care of them, oh and for the nose shots, one of the is flipped while the other isn't)

so let's summarize!

Pros:

- Fills the pores
- Brightens the skin
- Provides light coverage and tones down redness (nothing major though)
- Kinda lives to its name: it has the same effect as a low degree beauty face effect (2/5 or something)
- Makes your foundation/ BB cream last longer.
- Can be used both alone or under a foundation.
- A little goes a long way

Cons:

- A little bit expensive for just 35g, but not unreasonably so.

Would I repurchase it?

Yes! actually, it's my second bottle

Would I repurchase it?

- Amazon for $11.99
- StyleKorean for $13.31
