One Step Skincare Routine? COSRX One Step Moisture Up Pads: Review

by - October 29, 2017

COSRX is one of the few brands who focus on proven ingredients and effective formulations and avoid any non-sense ingredients that do nothing but raise the risk of skin irritation. That's why whenever they drop a new product, I get excited and try to get my hands on it, let alone when this new product is a moisture version of the One Step Pimple Pads that's I'm so in love with (and that I reviewed recently here).
Ps: I know that it isn't considered new anymore since it has been released many months ago, but it was when I first purchased it xD

Description and claims:

Formulated with hyaluronic acid, propolis, and natural BHA, the One Step Moisture Up Pad increases the absorptivity of the skin for maximized hydration that lasts all day while replenishing the natural balance and removing irritants and dead cells from the skin for a happy, healthy skin. Perfect for sensitive, easily irritated skin, the One Step Moisture Up Pad is the perfect little solution for a simpler, more effective skin care routine.

Price: 17500 KRW

Volume: 70 pads

How to use:

1) Using the embossing side, gently wipe the entire face, avoiding the eye areas.
2) Flip the pad to the soft side and wipe the entire face once more.
3) Close the lid tightly after each use to prevent the pads from drying.

Ingredients:

Propolis Extract (70%), Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Betaine, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Betaine Salicylate (0.5%) , Panthenol, Allantoin, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate, Copolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Xanthan Gum, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil

What skincare routine step is this?
This product can supposedly replace a basic skincare routine minus cleansing and sunscreen. But you can use it instead of your hydrating toner or lotion. Check my Skincare101 series in case you are confused about what products go first in a Korean skincare routine.

What skin type might like this?
As a one step skincare routine, these pads can be used by practically every skin type, but for those with dry/dehydrated skin, this would work better as a toner/lotion replacement.

What kind of people might like this?
Those who are pressed in the morning and don't have time for a full skincare routine, or who come back home super tired and all they want to do is go to bed (I'm just making excuses to justify my laziness xD)

Packaging:

The packaging is exactly the same as their best seller COSRX One Step Pimple Pad. The only two differences are Mr RX position and the color: this one's jar is light blue while the pimple pad one is red.

Scent:
It has a citrusy scent that reminds me of FA Cologne.

Pads:
These pads are soaked in enough essence to use on your face, neck and the back of your hands and have two sides: A textured side to gently exfoliate the skin, and a smooth side to allow the essence to soak into the skin. The textured side isn't really rough so even those with sensitive skin can use it (except if you are allergic to one of the ingredients of course)

pH level: 5

Effectiveness:
Right after using this moisture up pad, my skin feels instantly moisturised without stickiness.
I've been using it every morning for the past couple of weeks and I noticed that my skin became less flaky and bumpy, which is totally understandable since these pads contain heaps of propolis extract and Hyaluronic acid that can't not hydrate the skin, coupled with mild exfoliation to gently get rid of all the upmost layer of dead skin cells and allow all the goodies soaked in the pad to get deep into the skin.
Will COSRX ever disappoint me? I don't think so.

What's good?
- Really moisturizing and hydrating
- Convenient
- Easy to use
- Can replace a basic skincare (except for cleansing and sunscreen) on the busy days (especially for those of you with normal/combination/oily skin that doesn't need much layering)

What's not good?
I honestly can't think about anything.

Will I repurchase it?
Most definitely!

Where to buy?
- StyleKorean for $15.20
- Wishtrend for $19 (you can use my referral code 125028803 upon registration to get $5 off your first $30 or above order)

So what do you think about these pads? Have you got your hands on them yet? if not, do you think you need to add them to your skincare routine or are you more interested in the other BHA/AHA pads? let me know in the comments below!

    1. yeah this is the ideal pH to maintain the skin barrier and preventing bacteria from colonizing the skin, so having this pH is absolutely a plus when it comes to skincare products.

  12. I use a similar toner/moisturizer from First Aid Beauty and have been wanting to add more beauty products to my stash. I would love to cut my morning facial routine in half - I spend way too much time trying to find the right balance between moisturizer and toner!

  15. I'm currently using the One Step Pimple Pad but this one sounds really interesting based on your review. I may try this one when my pimples cleared up :)

I'm using this product as well and I find it really tricky to add water on it, but I was informed it doesn't really foam that much :)
