Glow With Mei

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog ~~

After trying out Leaders Moisturizing Recovery Coconut Mask and Teatree Relaxing Renewal Mask and falling for both of them, I decided to try their 7 Wonders Himalayan Camellia Pore Minimizing Mask, hopefully I will like it as much as I did the other two.

Description:

The camellia flower is considered the miracle oil in East Asia, and is used to make anti-oxidant rich green and black tea. It restores skin by reducing fine lines and the appearance of pores.

Treats:
- Rough skin
- Irritation
- Enlarged pores
Effectiveness:
- By diminishing fine lines & acne scars
- Refines rough skin
- Soothes troubled & irritated skin
- Visibly minimizes pores

How to use:

Apply to a freshly cleansed face. Remove mask from packaging and peel off protective film from one side. Attach mask to the face and remove the outer protective film. For best results, leave mask on for 20-25 minutes before removing. Gently massage the excess serum into face and neck until fully absorbed.

Volume: 30ml

Ingredients:

Water, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract, Glycerin, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Betaine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Xanthan Gum, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Fragrance, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Camellia Oleifera Seed Oil, Ledum Palustre Extract, Saururus Chinensis Extract, Artemisia Absinthium Extract, Artemisia Capillaris Flower Extract, Ecklonia Cava Extract, Achillea Millefolium Extract, Gentiana Lutea Root Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Panthenol, Niacinamide, Tocopheryl Acetate, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-40, Retinyl Palmitate, Biotin, Ascorbic Acid, Folic Acid, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Ceramide 3, Glyceryl Linolenate, Glyceryl Linoleate, Glyceryl Arachidonate.

Packaging:

Just like the Moisturizing Recovery mask (reviewed here), this mask is a 3 layers mask: The outer two should be peeled away to reveal the middle layer, which is the actual mask (Many people don't read instructions and end up putting the 3 layers on their faces and complain about how heavy it is and how it doesn't adhere well to the skin)

Sheet texture: 10/10

Again like their other coconut mask I've tried, this one is made of 100% naturally fermented coconut gel that claims to deliver 10 times more hydration. it's of a really good quality: It's pretty thin and smooth (it kinda looks like a rice roll paper), and adheres to the face perfectly which means you can move freely during your sheet masking session.

Essence: 10/10

This mask comes with a 30ml of thick essence which is a generous amount imo, and unlike other sheet masks where the essence keeps dripping all over the place and is practically wasted (unlike you recycle it like I do), you can pour this essence over the coconut gel mask and it will surprisingly absorb it all and efficiently deliver it to your skin.

Fit: 9/10

This mask fits nicely. The eye holes aren't too big (like the horrible elizavecca sheet masks) nor too small. Also, there is no left over sheet mask overlapping your hairline.

Performance: 8/10

So after exfoliating my face to make sure my skin will absorb all the goodies and there would be nothing stopping my pores to minimize, I put this mask on.
It adheres perfectly to the skin there are no air bubble or anything in between. I kept the mask on for 30min and during this masking session, I didn't feel any irritation or unpleasant feeling.
After taking it off, my skin felt hydrated, less irritated and plump, and looked more radiant and glowing. I'm not sure it minimized my pores since I don't have huge pores to start with (they are pretty small so I was expecting it to make them almost unnoticeable tbh), but after reading some reviews of people with actually huge pores, I think it does minimize huge pores and make them less apparent.

Would I repurchase it?

I don't have huge pores to start with so I don't really need it, but I love how it plumped my skin up and made it look more radiant.

Where tu buy?

For US (and Canada I believe) residents:
Leaders 7 Wonders Himalayan Camellia Pore Minimizing Mask retails for $6 a sheet or $58 a box of 10 at Their official website and is also available many other places like Ulta and Ipsy I believe. (it is available pretty much everywhere.. you are lucky guys)

For international buyers:

I've checked every K-beauty website I know but couldn't find this mask anywhere (you can find the other Leaders masks on W2beauty, Stylekorean and Koreadepart, but not this one).

All that's left is to check the good ol' amazon and see if they ship to where you live (they don't ship to Morocco..) it retails here for $5.5 a mask and here for $40 a box of 10.
Please let me know If you could find it anywhere that ships internationally ♥

Hello Lovelies!

Guess who's finally back! did any of you miss me? I guess nobody did... *pouts*
I feel like all I've been doing for this last couple of months is reading novels and taking exams without studying enough (I TOTALLY blame sir Rob aka Rob Thier for writing such amazing life ruining stories) but now finally, exams are over, I'm kinda satisfied with my results and I finally got over my bitter I'm-not-interested-in-anything-anymore mood.

and when I was thinking about what product should I review next (I have twenty something products that are still wating for their turn to be reviewed... a though choice right?) One of my friends got me this Jungle Botanics scrub to try.

Description and claims:
The “Natural Body Glow Nutshell Scrub” is a body scrub that contains finely ground walnut shell granules
and various natural oils from the jungle. The round-cut granules do not irritate your skin,
but gently exfoliates and purifies, leaving your skin healthy, smooth, and glowing.
Via Wishtrend

Volume:
 250ml

Ingredients:
Water, Juglans Regia (Walnut) Shell Powder, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, TEA-Lauryl Sulfate, Propylene Glycol Laurate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Fragrance, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Oleyl Alcohol, Sodium Chloride, Cocamide DEA, Triethanolamine, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Carbomer, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Sucrose, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Mannitol, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Pentaclethra macroloba seed oil, Garcinia Indica Seed Butter, Bertholletia Excelsa Seed Oil, Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter, Tocopheryl Acetate, Titanium Dioxide, Mica, Butylene Glycol, Origanum Vulgare Leaf Extract, Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Extract, Moringa Oleifera Leaf Extract, Malpighia Emarginata (Acerola) Fruit Extract, Gaultheria Procumbens (Wintergreen) Leaf Extract, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Extract, Crocus Sativus Flower Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Flower Extract, Achillea Millefolium Flower Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Prunus Persica (Peach) Kernel Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Hippophae Rhamnoides Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Gossypium Herbaceum (Cotton) Seed Oil, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Oil, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Pseudozyma Epicola/Soybean Flour/Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil Ferment Filtrate, Tin Oxide, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, CI 77491

So according to COSDNA here, this scrub has many good ingredients, but there also some not so safe ones such as Cocamide DEA, which might be irritating to some of you, but I think that it won't do any harm as long as you don't use it on your face. So please keep in mind that this is strictly a body scrub that shouldn't be used on your face, at all.

How to use:

1) Squeeze moderate amount of product onto wet skin and massage in circular motion. Rinse thoroughly with water.
2) Recommended use: 2-3 times a week

Packaging:
It comes in a large 250ml squeezable tube which means it's more hygienic than scrubs (or any product) that come in jars, and its glossy beach themed colors only make it more appealing. its hole is large enough to squeeze the the right amount of product, whitout being too large to end up with more product than required.

Scent and texture:
When I first opened the tube, I was expecting a strong fake walnuts scent, but was surprised and kinda confused when I was met with a sweet scent that's kinda similar to Argan Oil. Combined with its brownish color and extremely granular texture, it made me think about Moroccan Amlou the whole time I was using it (for my non Moroccan readers, amlou is a spreadable past that is made of Almonds, honey and Argan oil, and it's reaaaaaally yummy)

Performance:

Surprisingly, this scrub's tiny teeny granules did actually scrub my dead cells away while still being gentle on my skin (they absolutely did a better job than those scrubs with large granules, a thing that I didn't expect), it also didn't dry my skin out but instead left it really smooth and soft afterwards thanks to all those vegetable oils included in the ingredients, it also kinda helped with the few spots in my shins where I have keratosis pilaris (don't expect anything miraculous if you have it in large areas, that way you won't be disappointed)
I was also worried that I might need a large quantity of product to scrub my whole body (I was honestly expecting the tube to last for merely a week or two to be honest) but a little amount was more than enough, which is always an added bonus.

Summary

Pros:

- it gets the exfoliation done asap
- Lovely Hygienic packaging
- Leaves my dry skin soft and smooth
- Uses actual walnut granules as its exfoliator

Cons:

- some not so safe ingredients

Where can you purchase it?
- At Wishtrend for $29 (You can also use this invitation code 125028803 to get $5 off your first purchase)
- At Amazon for $23.90 (Click here for an Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial)

Would I repurchase it?

Yep

I usually try new sheet masks on Saturday (just in case I react badly to any of them, I can stay home on sunday), and since it's that time of the month and my skin is acting up, I decided to try another mask I've got from Leaders Cosmetics USA : Teatree Relaxing Renewal Mask, to see if it really does what it claims and if I'm gonna love it as much as I loved their coconut moisturizing recovery mask (I reviewed it here)

Description:

A natural cellulose cotton sheet mask, infused with organic leaf extracts, that provides oil control and helps to soothe irritated, sensitive skin. The Tea-tree relaxing renewal mask promotes balanced skin through fresh organic leaf extracts (birch, hazelnut, and olive), which help protect skin from harmful external environmental factors and prevents breakouts.

Recommended for:

- Sensitive skin due to breakouts
- Rough and unbalanced skin
- Skin that is irritated, itchy, or sunburned

How to use:

Clean face with gentle cleanser and pat dry. Remove mask from packaging and contour mask to the face. For best results, leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes. Gently massage the excess serum into face and neck until fully absorbed.

Volume: 25ml

Ingredients:

Water, Methylpropanediol, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Acer saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Centella Asiatica Extract, Betaine, Xanthan Gum, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Pinus Densiflora Leaf Extract, Propanediol, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Isostearate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Artemisia Capillaris Flower Extract, Ecklonia Cava Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Ledum Palustre Extract,Saururus Chinensis Extract, Achillea Millefolium Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Artemisia Absinthium Extract, Gentiana Lutea Root Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Betula Alba Bud Extract, Corylus Avellana (Hazel) Bud Extract, Juglans Regia (Walnut) Leaf Extract, Olea Europaea (Olive) Bud Extract.

Packaging:

Sheet texture: 10/10

When it comes to cotton sheet masks, I don't really pay attention to the sheet itself since most of them are similar but this one felt really different than the others. The cotton fabric it's made of is strong and thin, and isn't as opaque as the other cotton sheet masks I'm used to.

Essence: 9/10

The cotton sheet mask comes soaked in thick syrupy essence, with a lot of leftover inside the package that you can apply to other parts of your body, or store and use the day after.

Scent: 8/10

It smells really fresh with a subtle hint of tea tree. Nothing overwhelming but it might bother some of you.

Fit: 9/10

This mask fits perfectly. The eye holes aren't too big (like the horrible elizavecca sheet masks) nor too small. It also adheres well to the skin and doesn't slide off your face continuously.

Performance: 10/10

Leaders' cotton sheet masks are definitely more expensive than the classic Innisfree and Tony Moly masks, but are also much more effective.

When I had this sheet mask on, it didn't feel refreshing (or maybe I just couldn't feel it since it was freezing already), but it didn't irritate my skin or make t feel hot either (like what the Tony Moly tea tree mask did, reviewed here).

Once I took it off, it left a slight stickiness that disappears once the essence is fully absorbed. My redness was gone right away and my skin kinda calmed down, and feels smooth and hydrated.
The next morning, I could notice that my teeny tiny pimples are gone and the big ones are noticeably less swollen.

Would I repurchase it?

Absolutely!

Where tu buy?

For US (and Canada I believe) residents:

Leaders Tea Tree Relaxing Renewal Sheet Mask retails for $5 a sheet or $48 a box of 10 at Their official website and is also available many other places like Ulta and Ipsy I believe. (it is available pretty much everywhere.. you are lucky guys)
It also is available on Amazon: 1 sheet mask for $4.99 and 10 sheet masks for $40

For international buyers:

I've checked every K-beauty website I know that ships worldwide, unfortunately it is sold out almost everywhere, except for StyleKorean where you can get 10 for $16.82 + shipping fees (it originally retails for $28 + shipping fees but it's currently on sale)
