COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All In One Cream Review

by - December 24, 2017

Although COSRX is my favorite skincare brand so far, and even though I absolutely love the COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Essence, it took me sometime to finally get their Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream because when it comes to moisturisers, I just prefer to stick to the ones I trust instead of getting new ones that I probably wouldn't like and just waste my money on. But after losing my precious essence in the airport, I decided to try some of the cream samples I have while I'm waiting for a new one and boy oh boy, I regret not getting my hands on it any sooner. So read on to find out what I liked and disliked about this product.

Description and claims:

Made with all-natural domestic 92% snail secretion filtrate, the Advanced Snail 92 All In One
Cream acts to prevent aging and promote a healthy, rejuvenated skin while keeping in the hydration of a snail cream. Safe to use on any and all kinds of skin due to its nature of only natural,
excellent ingredients.

- Full of collagen to maintain healthy, wrinkle-free skin.
- Snail cream that preserves youth & prevents aging.
- Anti-aging rejuvenation & maintenance.
- Complete hydration without the irritation.

Volume: 100 ml

Ingredients:

Snail Secretion Filtrate, Betaine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cetearyl Alcohol, stearic acid, Arginine, Dimethicone, Carbomer, Panthenol, Allantoin, Sodium Polyacrylate, Xanthan Gum, Ethyl Hexanediol, Adenosine, Phenoxyethanol

This cream is made mainly out of snail filtrate, that although it is known for its many benefits, it might cause an allergic reaction, so make sure you aren't allergic to snail mucin first. (I've talked about this ingredient more in the 3rd part of  my Skincare 101 series, so make sure to check it out here ^^ )
In addition to snail filtrate, this cream contains a couple of ingredients that might irritate your skin and cause you acne (according to this CosDNA analysis), so make sure to patch test first before using it on your face (In case you don't know how: use a little of this product on your jaw or under your ear and see if there is any bad reaction to it)

How to use:

- After cleansing, at the last step of your basic care, apply an adequate amount to the face, dividing up the portions and applying each small portion to different areas. Lightly tap the area to help absorption.
- Gently massage the whole face using your palms about 2-3 times to ensure full absorption.

Packaging: 4/10

The packaging is the only downside I personally can point out. This cream comes in a white plastic tub that is kinda the wider version of the old COSRX overnight masks (I reviewed the rice one here if interested), with a spatula and an extra protection lid, but since this cream is more gooey and slippery than the night masks, it kinda leaks out. It's not travel friendly at all since it should be kept laying horizontally.

I just hope they would repackage it like they did to the overnight masks. (I'm gonna probably use a syringe to pour it into a tube instead since it would be much much more convenient to use that way.

Scent: 8/10

It has a really faint smell that I can't point out. It's not herbal, flowery, powdery, fresh or anything lol, just a plain vague smell that I don't think would bother anyone, but who knows.

Texture: 8/10

You can tell that this cream is made out of snail filtrate just by its gooey and slimy consistency, but it's nothing gross so don't worry.
It can be kinda sticky when you first apply it, but once it is fully absorbed there is no stickiness left.

The effects: 9.5/10

I use this cream mainly at night since it makes my skin look more glowing and healthy the next morning, and occasionally in the morning when I wanna use something that grabs my base makeup.

Although it's a cream, it's not nearly as moisturizing as most of the creams I've previously used, so if you are looking for a moisturizer for your dry skin, this is not for you. But since I like layering moisturizers over my skin, I don't really mind this one point since I originally bought it for other purposes anyways: I noticed reduced my redness a lot, my breakouts are less horrible than they usually are at that moment of the month (I rarely ever get pimples on my forehead, nose and left cheek when they are usually the first zones to act up), and my skin looks much more healthier.

As for my sister who has an oily acne prone skin, she thinks that it really moisturizes her skin in this dry harsh winter, without making it greasier but instead making her face produce less sebum that it's used to do, and it helps speed up the healing process of her acne and even reduced her acne scars and faded her dark spots.

Do I recommend it?

If you have a dry skin and are looking for some extremely moisturizing cream for your skin, I wouldn't recommend it.

Other than that, this is a great product if you wanna couple it with the snail essence to reduce your redness, acne scars, dark spots and speed up your pimples' healing process (which I'm doing), or alone if you have an oily skin and are looking for a cream that would moisturize your skin without making it greasier.

But if you are getting this product mainly to take care of your scars and stuff, and had to choose either this cream or the COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin essence, then go for the essence since it kinda is more effective in my opinion (and its packaging is way more convenient).
(Let me know If you want me review the essence or make a comparison between these two products)

  1. My skin gets very dry in the winter so as you suggested, this might not be the best product for me.
