All in one cleanser: Troiareuke ACSEN Oil Cut Cleansing: Review

by - November 27, 2017

No matter how long or short your skincare routine is, cleansing is a mandatory step that can't be skipped otherwise you'll have a lot of dead skin cells, makeup and impurities building up on your skin, clogging your pores, causing more breakout and skin irritation and preventing your skincare from reaching your skin getting its job done.

I've tried many first and second cleansers throughout the past few years, but there was one I just never got around to try yet has always been on the top of my "To Try" list was Troiareuke Oil Cut Cleansing (especially that two of my fav youtubers kept raving about it for ages)

For those of you who have never heard about this brand, Troiareuke is a professional prescription skincare brand, that provides personalized skincare prescriptions to give the perfect solution to different skin types and disorders.

MK Corporation started initially with Troipeel, a SPA brand, and after being asked multiple times by their customers about where they can find their treatments elsewhere, they decided to make Troiareuke, a skincare line that can be used by professionals as well as by individuals.

About a year ago, they came up with a new special line, designed for Acne and Sensitive skin, thus the name Acsen (Ac: acne + Sen: sensitive). This line provides a full customized skincare routine from the cleanser to the cream, they even made a bb cushion as a bonus (the infamous A+ cushion that is known for its special formula: 99% skincare and 1% makeup), and the main ingredients in this line are:

Centella Asiatica: Powerful Recovery Energy
It restores damaged skin's external and internal cells. It has effect on the wounded areas. [Acne]+[Sensitive]
Selemix An: Powerful acne and sensitive skin solution
A formulation between the Selenium and Magnolia bark extract that has been developed especially for acne and sensitive skin and gives a powerful energy: Germinating soybean extract and selenium recovers damaged skin and protects it from further external damage, and tree bark extract of Magnolol and Honokiol ease and control inflammation and kills Propionibacterium Acne(P.acne), the bacteria that causes acne.

Now that you are more familiar with this brand and this line, let's move to the actual review ~

Packaging:

This cleanser comes in a neat and simple white plastic bottle with purple cap and accents, housed in a similarly designed glossy box .

Smell:

It smells vaguely like Pantene shampoos lol

Texture:

It has a watery gel consistency, more on the watery side, and isn't sticky or greasy at all.

Effectiveness:

Although I had very high expectations for this brand, I don't know why but I kinda doubted this particular product's ability to remove makeup and was planning to use it as a second cleanser only to prevent my skin getting any dryer, which always leads to lots of flakiness and breakouts in my case. But after using it for a week as a second cleanser, I run out of my Heimish All Clean Balm that I reviewed previously, and decided to give this one a try, and I was really surprised that it actually did remove my makeup and well, it did prove me wrong lol. I kinda feel guilty right now for doubting its ability to do what it claims, but now I'm fully convinced that I can rely on it as an All in One cleanser. so like you can see in the picture below, it was able to remove EVERYTHING, even water proof ones.

That being said, I think I will continue using my regular balm cleanser and foam cleanser, because although this product does its job perfectly, I don't think it is worth the price since I can use other products (that are less pricey) and achieve the same results, and I like how my Heimish all clean balm smell and I like to feel the foam all over my face so I absolutely don't mind using them everyday lol.

But if you have an extremely sensitive acne prone skin and you have a hard time finding a good cleanser that won't break you out and help you heal your skin, then I think that this cleanser is the right one for you, since it does get rid of all the gunk that built up your skin throughout the day without damaging it any further.

Summary

Pros:

- Gentle on the skin and doesn't irritate it nor dry it out.
- Removes all the gunk that builds up our skin throughout the day.
- Does a great job removing makeup.
- Made my skin really soft and smooth.
- Doesn't leave a greasy or sticky residue.

Cons:

- A little too pricey for my liking.

You can buy it:

Troiareuke ACSEN Oil Cut Cleansing can be purchased at Amazon for $39.98 (Prime)

Do I recommend it?
Like I said before, it is a really good product that does a great job removing makeup and getting rid of the gunk in our pores, it also makes the skin softer, but that's nothing other products can't do. So if you have a sensitive skin that is easily irritated by other cleansers, the this is absolutely the right cleanser for you, but if you don't have a problem using multiple products then you might want to consider a cheaper option :p

4.5/5

Have you ever tried this cleanser? what do you think about it? and if you didn't what are your current favorite cleansers?
