Glow With Mei

Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur is one of the popular Korean base makeup/primers, and I personally have been using it since it was launched last year, that's why I'm gonna share my thoughts about it with you today.

Description and claims:

This lightweight cream provides multi-filtering effects for instantly refined and smooth skin.
The texture is smooth but it minimizes pores and brighten complexion.

What it does:

- Covers pores and bumpy skin to make skin look flawless.
- Softening skin layer like filter effect to give smooth and even skin layer.
- Natural whitening skin to make dark skin look bright and cover imperfections flawlessly while remaining invisible on-screen and in real life.
- Baby pixel powder and cover powder compounds give 3-in-1 multi filter effect like adjusting light on skin.

Volume: 35g

Ingredients:

Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Butylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Peg-10 Dimethicone, Zinc Oxide (Ci 77947), Phenyl Trimethicone, Dimethicone, Pentylene Glycol, Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Glycerin, Sorbitan Isostearate, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Magnesium Sulfate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Tribehenin, Glyceryl Behenate/Eicosadioate, Hydrogenated Castor Oil Isostearate, Aluminum Hydroxide, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hdi/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Silica, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Disodium Edta, Fragrance(Parfum), Phenoxyethanol, Mica (Ci 77019), Iron Oxides (Ci 77492), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491)

So like many other primers, this primer contains lots of silicones...

How to use:

- As the last step of skin care, apply the cream on face and smoothly massage following skin layers.
- It can be used solely or you may use it with Any Cushion line products for more intensive coverage.
(Apply Any Cushion after Beauty Shot Face Blur)

Packaging:

This primer comes in a little pretty peach colored bottle (We're talking about Etude House, of course the packaging would be pretty), with a pump dispenser that dispenses just the right amount of product that would be enough for the whole face.

The scent and texture:

It has a vague baby powder scent. This primer is a lightweight  peach-pinkish cream, that is neither too watery nor too thick, that spreads easily, and leaves a white cast if not well blended (or id you use more product than you should).

The performance:

When applied and blended, this primer provides a light coverage and skin evening and toning up, coupled with a little bit of SPF, which makes it okay to use alone if you want. Up close, this primer is quite shimmery, just a little to make your skin look glowy (unlike the perfect cover bb cream that is quite sparkly). Pore-wise, this primer does a decent job minimising the pores and making the skin smoother (you can see for yourself in the pictures below, excuse my awful blackheads, I just don't find the time to take care of them, oh and for the nose shots, one of the is flipped while the other isn't)

so let's summarize!

Pros:

- Fills the pores
- Brightens the skin
- Provides light coverage and tones down redness (nothing major though)
- Kinda lives to its name: it has the same effect as a low degree beauty face effect (2/5 or something)
- Makes your foundation/ BB cream last longer.
- Can be used both alone or under a foundation.
- A little goes a long way

Cons:

- A little bit expensive for just 35g, but not unreasonably so.

Would I repurchase it?

Yes! actually, it's my second bottle

Would I repurchase it?

- Amazon for $11.99
- StyleKorean for $13.31

Hi lovelies~~
I'm back again with a new review,  yaay ~

When I reviewed the mamonde lippie last time (here), I mentioned that peripera ink lip tints are on the top on my "lippies to try" list, and recently, I got the Peripera Peri's Ink Minimini Set Girls Cabinet in hot pink, and today I'm gonna share with you what I think about it.

Description and Claims:

The Limited-Edition Set Includes the Complete Peri's Ink Collection.
Also comes with the New Limited-Edition Peri's Ink 'Captivating Quart'!
Cute Stickers to Create your Own Tin Case!

Capacity: 2.7g × 5ea

Packaging: 10/10

The packaging is absolutely eye-catching. both the box and the tin cabinet are glossy hot pink, have kinda identical designs with some information in both korean and english printed on the back.

It also comes with a random set of stickers to customize your cabinet the way you want. I thought the stickers are made of paper when I first saw it online but  seems like it's made of some kind of fabric.

Inside the cabinet, you get five tiny teeny adorable bottles that are kinda similar to the full version but much smaller (I took a pic of them side by side to give you an idea about their size)

They all have the same applicator except for the ink velvet one, you can see the difference in the pictures bellow:

Ink the velvet:

The others:

Scent: 9/10

The lip tints have a sweet candy smell, which you might not like, but I'm totally fine with it, while the peripera ink drop BB smells like... BB cream, but the scent isn't as strong as the other bb creams, I think it has the lightest smell out of all the bb creams I've tried before.

Mini Reviews and Swatches:

To be honest, I wanted to try the baby pink/blue one since I kinda liked the colors better, but since they were out of stock I went for the hot pink one and let me tell you, I'm glad I did. as you can notice on my swatches, the colors on the website are kinda deceiving and look nothing like the actual colors which are prettier in my opinion.

Limited edition: Rose Quartz 10/10

This was the one that surprised me the most. I was expecting something between a hot pink and a crimson pink but it ended up being a lovely rose. it looks really natural and can be used as an everyday lippie. It dries up in seconds (the fastest out of all of them) and doesn't transfer at all. it lasts for about 3-4 hours (it would probably last much longer if you don't lick your lips constantly like I do) but once the rosy color starts fading, it leaves a darker pink stain behind that stays for quite long time (kinda similar to the color in the swatches provided by peripera).
Also, it has the most liquidy texture out of all of them but still pigmented which means a little goes a long way. I think this is the one I will be using the most.

The Original: No spoiler 9/10

This one is thicker than the Rose Quartz one and needs longer time to dry fully, but once it dries it becomes kiss proof which is always a plus. The color is nothing near a true red which was a little disappointing, but also it wasn't an orangey red but a pinkish red instead which is fine by me (don't get me wrong, I love orange and orangish lippies, I just prefer them as lipsticks instead of lip tints).
It lasts longer than the previous one (maybe because it's a darker color so you can see it longer).

The moisture: Miss Adorable 8/10

This one is the stickier out of the bunch. It feels like it never dries and thus it isn't kiss proof which is kinda understandable since it has a glossy finish. The color is kinda similar to the no spoiler one, but this one is more vibrant while the other is slightly darker. I feel like it isn't as pigmented as the others (but still fairly pigmented) and it lasts about 4 hours before it starts loosing it glossiness, but it leaves a reddish pink stain behind that doesn't fade for hours.

The velvet: Inkrush 9/10

I love the ink velvet line which means I loved this one as well. This is so far the only one that looks irl like it does on the pictures provided by Peripera; a true orange. This one is the thickest out of all of these lippies and takes a considerably long time to dry fully (usually about 15 minutes...but today it seemed like it took hours so I got tired from waiting and even tried to blow dry it and ended up drying my already dehydrated skin instead.. that's why I took a pic of it when it's still "wet") It dries into a velvety finish that is similar to matte lipsticks (sticks not liquid lippies). It lasts really long and looks really pretty but unfortunately it transfers a little. The stain it leaves is actually the same color as the product itself so it doesn't look weird when it starts fading.
Some people found it kinda drying but I didn't even though I have dry lips, so I think it depends on individuals or something? I don't know.

Ink Drop BB 5/10

This bb cream is really watery (I've never tried a similar bb cream before), it has a really light coverage and gives a matte finish. It is suitable for people with nice skins and maybe a minor redness that the wanna hide and still look natural.
This bb cream comes in two shades, I've got the No 2 and it's a little bit darker than my skin, while the No 1 might be a tiny bit lighter if it is anything like the peripera bb cushions, which means this bb cream is only suitable for people with fair skin tones (I'm NW15 btw).

Would I repurchase it?

I'll probably purchase more shades (especially from the velvet line), and would absolutely get the full version of the Rose Quartz if I find it. If you are curious about peripera's products, I absolutely recommend purchasing this one and trying it out, it's worth the money and the packaging is adorable and can be used later to store your eyeliners or lip pencils or something.

Where to buy:

It's a limited edition.. too bad

If you ask me what korean products you wanna try, I won't think twice before answering:

- Mamonde Creamy Tint Lip Color Balm Intense
- Peripera Peri's Ink Velvet
- Etude House Kiss Lating Tint

I've tried to get the kiss lasting tint multiple times (since there are only two colors that I reeeeeaaally wanna get) but the korean customs always send it back saying that there is something wrong with the packaging (how stupid is that?), so I ended up giving up. As for the other two, I wanna get the whole collection if I could but... money (mamonde have 47 colors, 10 bucks each... the day I would spend 470$ on lipsticks my dad will kick me out). That's why, on my latest haul, the first things I picked up were Mamonde Creamy Tint Lip Color Balm Intense in #22 and Peripera girl's cabinet (I couldn't not get it) along with some other products I love.

So today, I'm gonna talk about the one I'm currently in love with (and I'm probably gonna get kicked out since I reaaaaaaaaally wanna buy more shades, and I can't not try the velvet version): Mamonde Creamy Tint Lip Color Balm, Intense.

Description and Claims:

3 in 1 lip color with [Lipstick (Vivid color) + Tint (Long lasting power) + Lip balm (Moisturizing)]
There are 3 varieties: Light (more like a tinted balm), Intense (semi-matte) and Intense velvet (matte)
# 21-25: Stylish and depth up

Capacity: 3g

Packaging: 10/10

It's an easy to use auto pencil, all you have to do is twist off the colored bottom to push the stick out. it comes with a transparent plastic cap that goes halfway down the tube, which makes it less likely to come off when you put it in your purse. It comes in a simple black box with a colored band showing the lippie's color.

Scent: 10/10

It has a really light scent that you won't notice unless you put it right under your nose.

Texture: 9/10

This lippie is really smooth and creamy, and although it has a matte/semi-matte finish, it doesn't dry out the lips. But still, if you have dry patches on your lips, make sure to scrub them out first before applying it for a flawless look.

Pigmentation: 10/10

This product it highly pigmented, so you don't have to layer it, so a little goes a long way. Also, it is easily blendable so if you are a fan of gradient lips, this lippie would work just well for you.

Application: 10/10

The creamy texture makes it super easy to apply it evenly on your lips to get a full lip look, and since it's not toooooo creamy (oily) it doesn't smear out of your lips and  creating a spiderweb-like look around them, also since it's a crayon like product, it's easy to apply accurately around the edges of your  lips (unless you have really thin lips, you better use a lip brush then)
And as mentioned above, you can also use it for gradient lips since it's easy to blend and thus you can control the gradient.

Hydration/Moisture: 7/10

Since this isn't a water tint, it doesn't dry out the lips but instead adds a little more moisture to it. But it's not as hydrating as they make it seem (a lot less hydrating than a lip balm)

Lasting Power: 7/10

It does a decent job lasting throughout the day, but it fades in the center of your lips after a greasy meal. Also it isn't transfer nor kiss proof, so it fades this way as well.

Would I repurchase it?

Yes! I love it and would probably buy the other shades as well (sorry wallet)

Where to buy:

- At Amazon for $8.98 (Click here for an Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial)

PS: this is the older version, they changed the packaging recently along with the shades (they still got some gorgeous shades tho')

Korean beauty brands are known for launching cute themed products, but I was able to control myself (okay maybe I didn't since I ended up buying at least 10 cute collaboration collections, but it could have been worse believe me), but when it came to Tonymoly x Pokemon line, I couldn't help but get at least three or four products, and among these was this cute Tonymoly Pikachu Mini Cushion Blusher.

Capacity: 9g

Packaging: 8/10

Tonymoly Pokemon Cushion blusher comes in a yellow smaller version of the usual bb cushion packaging, with Pikachu printed on the flip top cap, and a cute Pokéball mini cushion puff (it's really tiny you can only use two fingers)

Shades: 5/10

Just like the original No Spoiler Cushion Blusher, this one comes in three shades:
- No 1 Pink Fantasy: A super pale blue base pink, kinda unique shade, very sheer and gives a natural glow .
- No 2 Rose Coral: A Peachy pink that would suit most people, but especially those with medium skin tone
- No 3 Peach orange: This is the most pigmented out of them, I think it would be too dark a shade for those with fair skin tones, unless they are looking for umm, a dramatic sunburn look.

As you can see, they have a very limited range of shades which is kinda common with korean blushes (well except for etude house's cookie blushers that come is a wiiiiide range of shades)

Scent: 9/10

It smells like pink milk candies (cremo strawberry candies)

Texture: 10/10

It has the same texture as the usual bb cushions. you get a sponge saturated with liquid blush. I personally like this kinda blush better than powder blushes since it's much less  drying and blends seamlessly.

Pigmentation and color pay off: 7/10

I got Pink Fantasy, and although it is kinda pigmented, it's super pale compared to the other shades which means it probably wouldn't show on people with a medium light skin tone since it would be almost the same shade as theirs. But even though it's barely visible, it gives a nice glow to the skin and brightens up the over all complexion. I really like it. (and I don't even know why do my hands always look dark on pics? any ideas why?)

Application: 9/10

The application is really easy since the puff that comes with it is small, and it blends so prettily. that being said, the application can be tricky if you got the darker shade since you might pick up too much product if you press the whole puff instead of just a little part of it, so you might want to use your finger or a stippling brush instead.
PS: Make sure to press/tap the puff against your cheek to transfer the color onto your cheek without moving your base makeup.

Finish: 8/10

it has a semi matte finish that goes well with the over all semi matte / dewy korean look, but you can use a setting powder on top to mattify it if you want.

Lasting Power: 7/10

It isn't super lasting to be honest compared to western cream/powder blushes, I can't compare it with other cushion blushers since this one is the first one I try.

Would I repurchase it?
I love it and I absolutely recommend it, but I wanna try more cushion blushers (with other cute packagings)

Where did I get it from?

TonyMoly Pokémon Cushion Blusher retails for $14.40 and is available in 3 shades at W2beauty  ( you can use my invitation code 0814880404 upon registration to get 5$ off your first 30$ purchase)
