Innisfree Real Quinoa Mask Review

by - June 14, 2017

When it comes to skin care, Cosrx, Klairs and innisfree are my favorite brands, so when I heard about Innisfree's newly launched Real Wash Off masks, I knew that I had to try them.

They came up with 4 kinds of wash off masks:

- Real Peppermint :
          - Soothing and Refreshing
          - Hydrating and sebum controlling

- Real Grapefruit : Scrub & wash-off type.
          - For clear and brilliant skin
          - Exfoliating effect

- Real Rose : For Soft and glowing skin
          - Heating effect
          - Hydrating texture

- Real Quinoa : Nourishing and exfoliating

So I decided to pick two of them: The rose one (I love rose products so that was a pretty obvious choice), I heard that the peppermint one is a bit too drying and since my skin becomes super dry during winter, I didn't picked it up. So what's left was the grapefruit and the quinoa ones, they kinda have the same effects but since I need nutrition more than brightness, and I have never tried a quinoa product before, I choose the real quinoa mask hoping I wouldn't be disappointed..

And today, I'm gonna review the Quinoa one since there were many people that are curious about, so here is what I thought about it:

Description and claims:

- A refreshing finish from fresh, natural ingredients
- Abundant nutritional formula for resilient skin
- Resilient texture with the sizzle of grain
- Refreshes skin with a delicate natural fragrance while applying this mask.

How to use:

After a facial wash, spread an adequate amount over a clean and dry face, away from the eyes and mouth. After 5~10 minutes, cleanse using lukewarm water. (Recommended use: once ~ twice a week)

Packaging: 9/10

The packaging is similar to the Innisfree Jeju Super Volcanic Pore Clay mask (you can check my quick review here) The only difference is that this one comes in a semi-transparent jar with a silver twist-off cap, but they both come with a protective transparent plastic lid.
It doesn't come with a spatula so it might bother some of your.

Scent: 0/10

This smell H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E. I don't know if Quinoa naturally smells that awful since it's my first time using anything with quinoa in it, but this product's scent is a huuuuge turn off. I doesn't even fade so I couldn't keep the mask on my face more than a couple of minutes otherwise I was going to vomit.

Texture: 9/10

it has a gel like consistency with some few fine granules that look like crashed seeds in it. It's nothing too dramatic so you would barely feel the scrubbing.

The performance: 9/10

After cleansing, I used this mask over a dry face, massaged it a little and then left it (a couple of minutes since the scent was too strong and unpleasant to keep it on for 5-10min) and then I massaged my face again (more like rubbed it). I barely felt its particles doing anything to my face but it surprisingly did a nice job exfoliating my skin. after washing it off my skin was smooth and soft and looked healthier and more hydrated, so I think it would have given me better results if I left if for a longer time. I've used it once only there was no amazing long term results but it has nice short term effects (I will update you later if I ever notice any spectacular long term results ^^)

Do I recommend it?

Umm.. If you don't have a problem with strong scents or are used to Quinoa's smell, then I absolutely recommend it, if not, then this mask probably isn't for you.

From where did I get mine?
It retails for 16 $ on innisfreeworld
